Any suggestions or advice as to why this is occurring?
P.S. We all live together
maybe its because they are more affectionate over ur bf and they are fighthing for who gets the attension first or one may feel protective over him which is why he might start fighting with the other try to record which of your dogs it is that starts the fight
When dad comes home it changes the dynamic of hierarchy. The dogs are simply fighting to determine who is next in line or because they are overly stimulated.
I would suggest some obedience classes and you and your bf learning how to become the leaders of the pack(alphas) that way there isn't this dominance struggle everyday or chaotic behavior.
Have dad and you ignore them until they calm down and represent calm submissive behavior.
depending on which of your dogs are males; they may feel like your BF is "challenging" their dominance. dogs always need to feel like they have their place in the "pack" so that could be the problem
same thing happens with our dogs; whenever my father comes home the one dogs just goes crazy growling showing his teeth etc...
Fighting for his attention. My dog gets very excited when my husband comes home from work, She wants his attention ans will act up with my cats.
