How good they would sound is up to the quality of the drivers. As far as it being OK, yes. 8 ohm rated stereos are stable to 4 ohms, and actually deliver slightly more power to a 4 ohm speaker load.
Go ahead and try it.
It all depends on how you plan to hook all this up. My first suggestion would be to just put the 10 inch speakers in the boxes with the tweeters and crossover. You would in effect have a pair of two way speakers. It might work. If the Pioneer receiver is rated for 8 ohms minimum per channel, it might not work too well with a four ohm speaker but it is worth a try.
The best option of course is to go out and buy a pair of good 8 ohm speakers that are complete.
