How can I find a good home for my Full Breed American Pitt Bull Terrier?

My family and I have to move ,and to much heartbreak we can't take our pitt bull with us. We want to find him a good home instead of taking him to a shelter, because he is a sweetheart. How can we go about finding him a home? We don't want any money for him, just a good home!

Have you ever tried Craigslist? They have a pet category that you can list your dog under. I would be very choosy when it comes to giving this type of breed away though because some people may take advantage of the free animal and use it for fighting. Pit Bulls are well known for their aggressive tendencies and some take advantage of this by getting free ones to fight. When you decide you find someone you like to take the animal, try to find a way to check out the dog's potential permanent environment. Or get references from people who know the potential owner. Craigslist is a great way to advertise your situation though! Good luck.

Use the internet to research if there are any Pitt Bull rescue groups in your area. This would be the best way, if possible.
